Walking In The Favor Of God by Dr. Charles Stanley

The world was a sinful and wicked place, and it grieved God so much that He regretted ever creating mankind. Yet Noah found favor in the eyes of God (Genesis 6:5-7). In this three-part series, Dr. Stanley uses both the story of Noah’s obedience to God and examples from his own life to help us discover how we can listen, trust, and obey the Lord. God may not be calling you to build an Ark, but He is most certainly calling you to fulfill His will. When we make wise decisions that honor and bring glory to Him, we will find His favor in our own lives.

Open Heavens: Faith Antidote for Fear by Pastor E.A Adeboye

Open Heavens: Faith Antidote for Fear by Pastor E.A Adeboye

Thursday August 1st 2019
Memorise: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Read: James 1:5-8 (KJV)
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Message:-
Fear is an unpleasant emotion that is usually triggered by a perceived or real threat of danger, pain or harm.

It manifests as a general feeling or anxiety over the likelihood of a negative occurrence that may never become reality. It is indeed a paralysing force that often leads to self-doubt, timidity and lack of confidence, and if allowed to fester, it usually deals irreparable blows on its victim over time. Speaking on the debilitating effects of fear, Proverbs 22:13 says:

“The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.”

Fear prevents its victims from investing quality time, effort and money into profitable ventures, rendering them powerless and denying them bountiful harvest. Have you been held captive by fear? May the Lord deliver you from the spirit of fear and its paralysing effects today in Jesus’ Name.  To liberate His people from the bondage of fear, God repeatedly encouraged them to “fear not” several times in the Bible. What He said to them, He also says to you now: “Fear not”. Be strengthened by His assuring words in Isaiah 41:10, saying:

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

In light of God’s promise in Isaiah 41:10-13, it is clear that He expects us to allow our faith in Him shape the realities of our lives rather than let fear dominate us. God is disappointed whenever we exercise fear instead of faith. When the disciples of Jesus were confronted by a ranging storm which frightened them, Jesus asked them in Mark 4:40b:

“Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”

This shows us that God sees people who exhibit fear as having little or no faith at all. Faith is the antidote to fear, and anyone who will overcome fear must develop strong faith in God. Complete trust and faith in God is a central pillar of our life as Christians. The Holy Spirit assures us that whoever believes in Christ will not be disappointed or confounded (1st Peter 2:6). Whenever frightening events happen around us or we are overwhelmed by difficult circumstances of life, when danger lurks and failure or death stares us in the face, God expects us to safely trust in His love and ability to see us through such difficult times. May the anchor of your faith continually hold on to God forever in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point
Father, Please destroy the power of fear over my life and family today, in Jesus’ Name.

Receive Your Miracle by Gloria Copeland

Receive Your Miracle by Gloria Copeland

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:10

Do you need a miracle? Then believe it, confess it and receive it!

“Oh Gloria, I just don’t know if I can do that.”

Yes, you can! You’ve already done it once. When you made Jesus the Lord of your life, you believed, confessed and received the greatest miracle in the universe, the miracle of a reborn spirit! Every other miracle you receive will come in exactly the same way.

You start by simply believing what God’s Word says concerning your area of need, by letting that Word change your heart and mind.

A lot of people try to skip that step. They try to believe for a miracle without spending enough time in the Word to change their hearts and minds. They just want to confess it with their mouths and have it instantly appear. But that won’t happen. It’s what we believe in our hearts and say with our mouths that we receive.

If you don’t have enough faith yet to believe for the miracle you need, then you can get it. “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). So start filling the ears of your heart with the Word until faith for your miracle is born.

That’s what the woman did who had the issue of blood. She believed in her heart that Jesus would heal her. Then she spoke her faith out loud. Then she acted on that faith–and she received her miracle.

It wasn’t Jesus’ decision. He didn’t suddenly say, “You know, I think I’ll work a miracle for that little lady today.” No. She made it happen. She took her faith and drew on the power of God. That’s why Jesus said, “Daughter, your faith has made you whole” (Matthew 9:22).

You have that same opportunity. God’s power is always present everywhere. Your faith will bring it into your life, body or circumstances. So reach out to Jesus. Believe, confess and receive your miracle today.

Scripture Reading:
Matthew 9:18-31

Internal Strife by Billy Graham

Internal Strife by Billy Graham

Pride goes before destruction and haughtiness before a fall.
—Proverbs 16:18 (TLB)

David, king of ancient Israel, found himself in the midst of a confused national situation. His kingdom was torn by internal strife. Slave hated master; master hated slave. People blamed the government, and government blamed the people. David looked about him and saw that every man thought himself perfect.

Each individual placed blame upon other individuals. David knew that if sinful pride continued to increase, his nation would collapse spiritually. He knew that economic depression, moral disintegration, or military defeat inevitably follow spiritual decline. So David turned to God, and it was revealed to him by the Spirit of God that the spiritual tide of his nation could rise no higher than the spiritual level of his own heart. So he fell on his knees in utter humility and prayed, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psalm 139:23,24).

Billy Graham: Don’t Let Pride Get in the Way

Prayer for the day
Lord, deliver me from the sin of pride, and fill me with continuing humility as I go about the tasks before me this day.

The Fragrance of Christ by Deborah Waldron Fry

The Fragrance of Christ by Deborah Waldron Fry

I heard, “RESETTING and REFITTING” and “No more “incognito.”

And I saw the Bride of Christ, gloriously arrayed in white garments; the fiery battles she had been through left not a spot upon her, neither did she smell like smoke, but she was clothed with GLORY and the fragrance of Christ.

“Beloved. No longer shall you be hidden from the world. Though you are hidden in Christ from the enemy, the world shall see Whose you are. There is no more “incognito.” You shall no longer be in “plain clothes” but My Glory shall be very apparent. I am bringing out my hidden ones to be SEEN and HEARD. My true remnant is rising up in Grace and Glory. This army will not be camouflaged, but you are SHINING and BRIGHTLY arrayed! YES, My Warrior. They shall come to you; They shall come to My Light in you; They shall see Christ in you, the Hope of Glory. I have declared to all generations, “It is finished.”

Yes, the battles still go on, yet the victory is yours, Dear One. I have raised you above the skirmishes, above the conflicts, above the traps of the enemy, above arguments and the lies of the enemy. You walk with Me in the Spirit, and not the flesh. You are above and not beneath, Your Armor of Light is My Robe of Righteousness and My Glorious Garments of Salvation. Those the world consider “nobodies” shall be recognized as “Somebodies”. You are MY somebody! Oh yes, it is TIME! Arise and SHINE, My Warrior Bride.

For you belong to Me and I have made you MORE than a conqueror. I am REFITTING and RESETTING, equipping you and supplying ALL your needs. You shall not lack. Fear not, Mighty Warrior, the Lord of Hosts is with you. For your Light breaks out like the dawn, your recovery speedily springs forth, your righteousness goes before you and My Glory is your rear guard! As I send you forth you shall draw NATIONS and KINGS to the Brightness of your Dawn.

INCOGNITO: Disguised, under cover, in plain clothes, camouflaged; unrecognized, unidentified, anonymous.

RESET: (military) The equipment refurbishment process. A series of actions to restore units to a desired level of combat capability commensurate with future mission requirements.”
REFIT: (military) to make or be made ready or fit, as by repairing, reequipping, or resupplying. (as of Navy ship)

…Colossians 1:22 But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy, unblemished, and blameless in His presence.

…2 Peter 1:19 So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.

How to Rejoice in God’s Goodness to Others by Rick Warren

How to Rejoice in God’s Goodness to Others by Rick Warren

“Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15 ESV).

When you see God providing for others, you can choose to respond with either joy or resentment.
In some ways, the second half of today’s verse is much easier to do than the first half. It’s easy to weep with those who weep.

But it’s much more difficult to rejoice when someone experiences success. In fact, we sometimes feel threatened by it, and we resent it. That’s because we think the world is a giant pie that’s divided up into slices. If somebody gets a slice that’s a little bit bigger than mine, that must mean my slice is going to be smaller.

That kind of thinking is wrong. God’s got all the pie slices in the world! He doesn’t run out of blessings. He doesn’t run out of grace. There’s more than enough to go around for everybody, and just because God blesses somebody else doesn’t mean there’s not enough blessing for you, too. He wants to bless you, but it may be in different ways.

Envy keeps you from entering into the joy of other people. As a result, you don’t enjoy much that goes on in the world. Envy will make you a pretty miserable person.

This is what happened in the parable of the vineyard workers in Matthew 20. The owner hired some people at the start of the day and others later in the day, but he paid them all the same. The first workers thought they’d been cheated. Instead of enjoying their pay, they resented it.

But if you choose to rejoice in God’s goodness to others, you can be joyful all the time—because something good is always happening to somebody.

What Can God Do Through You? by Joel Osteen

What Can God Do Through You? by Joel Osteen

…”The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!”
Judges 6:12, NKJV

TODAY’S WORD:

Many people feel inadequate to do anything for God. But God doesn’t see you as inadequate. He sees you as complete, lacking nothing in Him! In the Scripture, Gideon was hiding out from his enemies. He was afraid and didn’t feel equipped to do what God called him to do. Gideon was focused on his circumstances and his limitations, but God was focused on what He could do through Gideon. Gideon felt weak; God saw him as strong. Gideon felt unqualified; God saw him as competent to do the job. Gideon felt insecure and full of fear; God saw him as fearless and full of boldness. Sure enough, when Gideon obeyed God, against all odds, he ended in victory!

You may feel that you’re average. You may think you’re ordinary, but God sees you as a champion. He believes in you and regards you as a strong, courageous, successful, overcoming person. You may not see yourself that way, but that doesn’t change God’s image of you. God still sees you exactly as His Word describes you. Dare to start seeing yourself as God sees you—as a victor!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, thank You for giving me a spirit of boldness. Thank You for giving me a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. I yield myself to You. I yield my heart, my mind and my whole being. Have Your way in me and lead me into Your victory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Has Your Get-Up-and-Go Got Up and Gone? by Joyce Meyer

Has Your Get-Up-and-Go Got Up and Gone? by Joyce Meyer

Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.

— Romans 12:11

I have times when I get tired of doing what I am doing. We all do. No matter what your position is in life, there will be days when you will not feel like doing it. You might even go through a longer season in which you feel listless and uninterested in almost everything.

There may be underlying reasons that you will need to prayerfully search out, but often we just need to stir ourselves up and get going again. We need to do it purposely instead of waiting for a feeling to show up and motivate us to action again.

Gratitude helps me do that. When I recount all of my blessings, I am amazed at the goodness of God in my life. It makes me thankful, and that always stirs me up and makes life look brighter. Having great expectations also energizes and motivates me.

We don’t have to wait and see if something good happens in our lives; we can aggressively expect something good to happen. David indicated that if he failed to believe he would see the Lord’s goodness, it would affect him in a detrimental way. He said, [What, what would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness… (Psalm 27:13 AMPC).

The third thing that energizes me is getting my mind off how I feel and on something I can do to be a blessing to someone else. When I do, it works every time. Before long, I find myself enthusiastic about life and excited to resume my service to the Lord.

Prayer Starter: Father, I want to live life to the fullest. I want to live with passion, zeal, and appreciation for every opportunity that You give me. Help me approach this day with enthusiasm and do everything as unto You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
