by Tunmike Umarudeen:
A: “Let’s go down stairs people”
B: “I will not go down in Jesus name. I am above and not beneath”
A: “Are you the last person on the queue?”
B: “I shall not be the last in Jesus name”
A: “Can you move backwards please?”
B: “God forbid! I will not move backwards. Forward ever, backwards never.”
How these answers correlate with the questions is a surprise to me but these have become common lines of conversation among us, especially believers.
Responses like these are not positive confession as some term it, rather they are fear-induced responses. They are born out of the fear of negative things happening than an unwavering expectation of the positive ones they claim to confess. And these are rooted in wrong doctrines.
Confession of faith is not same as mental acknowledgment of facts nor mere rejection of a wrong statement, you can practice positive confession and see it come to pass without even believing in God. Rather, it is agreeing with and saying the same thing as God says in His word concerning a situation or thing. It doesn’t start from the outside but begins from the inside. It’s a product of an inward meditation on God’s words and conviction powered by the Holy Spirit.
So, it is not about the words used but more about the scriptural realities established in you birthing your words. It is as Paul wrote ” Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, ‘I believed, and so I spoke, we also believe, and so we also speak..” 2 Corinthians 4 : 13.
What do you believe? Let that guide what you speak!

The little bit of faith, love, compassion, and patience God has given us can move our mountains. No matter how tall or wide the mountain seems, it is no match for the little bit God has given us.
