Creflo Dollar focuses on finding peace and freedom from self-effort by fully depending on God and trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ. This concept is presented as a fundamental aspect of a life of faith under the New Covenant.

Key principles of Creflo Dollar's teaching
Rest through faith, not works
Dollar explains that rest is an outcome of genuine belief in God's promises, not hard work or self-effort. While the Old Covenant was "work then rest," the New Covenant begins with rest, from which all subsequent works are empowered by faith. This rest delivers believers from a performance-based relationship with God and the stress that comes with it.

Total dependence on God
The core of this teaching is learning to be completely dependent on God for help and support. It is an act of surrendering anxiety and worry and trusting that God can and will do things that we could never achieve on our own.

Peace in the midst of activity
"Resting in the Arms of Jesus" does not mean being inactive. It means resting while working, and trusting God through all of life's activities and challenges. By yielding to God, believers can be still and know that He is in control, even in the middle of a storm.

Peace of mind over worry
A key aspect of this teaching is that true peace is a product of resting in God's care. By casting your anxieties upon Jesus, you exchange worry for His peace, which surpasses human understanding. This means deliberately focusing on God and not being controlled by negative emotions.
