Give Jesus First Place in Your Areas of Worry by Rick Warren

“Your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to” (Matthew 6:32-33 TLB).

Anytime you worry, it reveals a particular area of your life where you have not given God first place. Any area of your life where God is not in control is going to be a source of insecurity and worry.
Welcome Jesus into your house. Give him access to the living room, the bedroom, the kitchen, and all the closets in your life. He already knows what’s in there. In fact, God knows your needs better than you do. You’ve got needs you don’t even know you’ve got. Whenever you bring a need to God, he’s not going to be surprised. He won’t say, “Whoa, I never saw that one coming!”

“Your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to” (Matthew 6:32-33 TLB).

When you make Jesus Christ number one in every area of your life, it simplifies your priorities and gives you a lot less to worry about.

Talk It Over

Pastor Rick mentioned insecurity in today’s devotional—what other emotions accompany your worries?
Are there things in your life that you love more than God, even if they are good things?
How have any of those things become a source of worry for you? If they aren’t a source of worry, why do you think that is so?

Give hope, prayer, and encouragement below. Post a comment & talk about it.

Your Time Is Coming by Joel Osteen

Your Time Is Coming by Joel Osteen

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it…”
Habakkuk 2:3, NKJV

TODAY’S WORD:

Your time is coming! The dreams and desires, the things you want to accomplish, the situations you want to see changed will happen. Just because it has taken a long time, or because you’ve tried and failed, don’t give up on those dreams. Don’t be complacent about pursuing what God has placed in your heart. No matter how long it’s been, no matter how impossible it looks, if you’ll stay in faith, your time is coming. God has set the date. Every dream that’s in your heart, every promise that has taken root, God not only put it there, but He has every intention of bringing it to pass. Start declaring today, “My time is coming. God is working behind the scenes on my behalf—I will fulfill my destiny—I will fulfill the plan God has for my life!” As you declare and expect and wait for the appointed time, your faith will grow.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father in Heaven, I receive Your truth today. I receive Your promises today. I ask that You ignite my heart with Your holy fire so that I can pursue Your perfect plan for my life. Make my thoughts and words agreeable to Your will. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Pray and Say God’s Word by Joyce Meyer

Pray and Say God’s Word by Joyce Meyer

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

— Isaiah 41:10

We must accept the fact that fear is a human emotion—we all experience it to some degree, but we also know we can live boldly and courageously because God has told us He is always with us. And because of that, we can choose to not live according to the fear we feel.

God taught me to use what I call the “power twins” to help me defeat the spirit of fear. They are “I pray” and “I say.” When I feel fear, I begin to pray and ask for God’s help, then I say, “I will not fear!”

Use these power twins as soon as you feel fearful about anything, and you will be able to keep fear from controlling you. We can learn to manage the emotion of fear and not let it manage us.

Prayer Starter: Father, I know that You are greater than my fears. Right now, I ask for Your supernatural grace, strength and peace in the midst of my circumstances. By faith I declare, “I will not fear!” Thank You, Lord, for setting me free. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

Equipped by God by Dr. Charles Stanley

Equipped by God by Dr. Charles Stanley

Hebrews 13:20-21

Sometimes followers of Christ get the wrong idea about their role versus God’s role. They may think that God is sitting on His throne, waiting to meet their needs when they call on Him. Although He is a loving Father who provides for us, we must be careful not to assume He exists to serve us.

The reality is that we exist for God. He created us for His purposes and has equipped every believer to serve Him in some fashion. According to Ephesians 2:10, “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” Everything about us has been designed by God to equip us for the work He preordained long before our birth.

• He created each of us with the exact personality and body we would need to fulfill His purpose for our life.

• God has equipped us with the strengths, abilities, and talents necessary to do what He planned for us.

• The Holy Spirit has given us spiritual gifts with which to serve one another in the church.

• Every experience in our life is used by God to equip us for doing His will. Both the pleasant and difficult times shape our character, mature us spiritually, and train us to help others.

God uniquely created each of us, and He’s provided us with everything we need to serve and glorify Him. All we must do is step out in obedience with full reliance on His grace and power.

The Treasury of Our Heart by John Hagee

The Treasury of Our Heart by John Hagee

Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

God calls us to first love Him with all our heart, and that is reflected in what we put in the treasury of our heart. There are many things that people tend to lay up in their heart as treasure— money, time, career, family, pleasure—but Jesus cautioned that we should rather lay up treasure in heaven. That means we need to bring all our earthly treasures to God, including our families, and give them to Him to use for His glory.

This is easily seen in our attitude toward giving money. Whenever God sees us put more love into our bank accounts than we do into the King who died for us, He says there’s a problem in the heart. This is why the Bible says, “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:7 NKJV). If you cut God a million- dollar check with a begrudging attitude, the church board will be thrilled, but God won’t be because your attitude says more to God about the love of your heart than anything else. But if you have just a dollar to give and you’re delighted to give it, God loves it. It’s all about what’s in your heart!

Blessing:

Now may the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob forgive us of our sin. May He forgive us for our ungodly lifestyle, and may we return to the God of our fathers and worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. For there is one God and He is Jehovah God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Creator of heaven and earth, from everlasting to everlasting. We confess Him to be God and no other. In Jesus’ name, we pray and ask it.

You Are A World Overcomer by Jerry Savelle

You Are A World Overcomer by Jerry Savelle

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. (1 John 5:4 NKJV)

Are you feeling overcome by the world? Are you feeling less than a conqueror? If so, you are in good company. We all go through times when we don’t feel like the totally victorious Christians the Word says we are.

But at times like these, when you are tempted to yield to feelings of condemnation, remind yourself that your feelings will lie to you. Feelings are just that: feelings.

Your feelings will fluctuate depending on how you perceive yourself, your circumstances, and the situation around you. Feelings will even cause you to doubt what the Word of God says about you. When you allow yourself to be led by your feelings, you will not get the victory that is already yours in Jesus.

However, if you refuse to be led by your feelings and choose instead to believe what the Word of God says about you and your situation, your feelings will eventually yield to the truth and change. As you meditate on the Word of God and see yourself as an overcomer through the eye of faith, victory will come easily.

The Bible doesn’t say, “This is the victory that has overcome the world—our feelings.” No, it says, “This is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” So take this radical step today: decide to walk by faith regardless of what your feelings might say.

Confession: I am not moved by what I feel. I am not moved by what I see. I am moved only by the Word of God, and it says I am an overcomer!

Covered, Protected, Delivered by Joseph Prince

Covered, Protected, Delivered by Joseph Prince

Exodus 13:21

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.

When the children of Israel were wandering in the desert, God led them by going before them in a pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night.

By day, God spread the pillar of cloud as a covering over His people in the desert to prevent the scorching sun from striking them down. The people were shaded and kept cool. Today, you are also under His covering. He will not allow you to be struck down (see Psalm 121:3–8), nor be oppressed by the “heat” of the day (see Isaiah 54:14).

At night, when the desert became dark and cold, God gave His people the pillar of fire to light the way for them, as well as to keep them warm and safe. Today, as you walk with God, you will not be overwhelmed by the cold, dark places in life because God’s Word says, “You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness” (1 Thessalonians 5:5). You will not fear the terror by night or the pestilence that walks in darkness because God will deliver you from them (see Psalm 91:5–6).

Like the children of Israel, who only needed to look up, and keep their eyes on the pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire, all you need to do today is to look up and keep your eyes on Jesus. When you need His direction for a situation, look to Jesus who has the words of eternal life (see John 6:68). When you see symptoms of sickness in your body, look to Jesus who has borne away every disease and physical affliction (see Matthew 8:17).

When the children of Israel were bitten by serpents in the desert, God told Moses to make a bronze serpent and put it on a pole—a picture of Christ being judged on the cross (see John 3:14). Those who looked at the bronze serpent instead of their wounds were healed (see Numbers 21:9). He who looks to Jesus lives!

Beloved, look to Jesus. He is your covering, protection and deliverance!

A Mighty Wind by Deborah Waldron Fry

A Mighty Wind by Deborah Waldron Fry

In a vision I saw a weary warrior. It was like the “wind had been knocked out of them.”

And I saw a Mighty Wind come in and blow all around them and lift them up, renewing, refreshing and restoring. I saw Jesus remove their armor for a period of “RESPITE”, a pause in the action.”Rest, for the battle is Mine”

Beloved. I have seen the fierce attacks against you in these last hours of the last days. I know you feel like the wind has been knocked out of you and you can’t catch your breath. Do not fear, My Child. I am here with you. A NEW WIND is blowing. As surely as the birds arrive with springtime, so this Mighty Outpouring is upon you. It is the Wind of the Holy Spirit breathing new strength into you, refreshing you and restoring what was stolen; My Zoe LIFE within you being stirred up and renewed. The devil CANNOT keep you down, My Brave One. Oh no.

For GREATER is He who is in you than he who is the world. Winds of Glory and Grace shall come upon you and overtake you and turn the enemy upside down. For where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! Things shall not stay the same, Dear One. You walk in NEWNESS of Life. The Winds have shifted, Beloved. This is a NEW season. Take a Breath of this Fresh Heavenly Air. It is the Breath of Freedom. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Grace upon Grace has come. Don’t worry about the future. I have already been there and made a way. Rejoice and Arise, My Love and come away. The flowers have appeared in the countryside, the season of singing has come, the Winds and Sound of My Spirit is blowing across the land.

RESPITE:a pause, a short period of rest or relief from something difficult or unpleasant.

…Song of Solomon 2:10My beloved calls to me, “Arise, my darling. Come away with me, my beautiful one. 11For now the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. 12The flowers have appeared in the countryside; the season of singing has come, and the cooing of turtledoves is heard in our land.
…John 3:7Do not be amazed that I said, ‘You must be born again.’ 8The wind blows where it wishes. You hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

…John 1:16 From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace. 17For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Life and Immortality Through The Gospel by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Life and Immortality Through The Gospel by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

…but be thou…made manifest by the
appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ,
who hath abolished death, and hath
brought life and immortality to light
through the gospel (2 Timothy 1:8-10).

In Christ Jesus, life and immortality have been
unveiled. This life isn’t the mere human or
biological life that’s depraved, degenerate and
broken; it’s the life and nature of God that transcends
the ordinary human life. In 1 John 5:13, the Apostle
John writes, “These things have I written unto you that
believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may
know that ye have eternal life….” So, being a Christian
means that the human life that’s subject to death, with
which you came into this world, has been supplanted
by the life and nature of God, making you immortal;
divine

Could this be real? “Is it true that death has been
abolished?” some may ask. Well, the Word says so,
and that settles it! Notice the tenses that Paul used;
he said death has been abolished; that’s in the past
tense; it’s not a promise; it’s been done already; you’re
not an ordinary person; you’re divine. 2 Peter 1:4 says,
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and
precious promises; that by these ye might be partakers
of the divine nature….”

As a replacement for the abolished
death-doomed human nature, He gave us divinity; He
made us partakers of the divine nature; associates of
the God-kind; comrades of the divine order. Let this understanding change the way you live; you’re a victor
in this life. You have the life of God in you.

As you walk in Christ and preach the Word of
God, you’re participating in divinity, and unveiling life
and immortality through the Gospel, so those who are
lost can hear, receive, and become partakers of this
glorious life as well. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for giving me life and
immortality, making me a partaker of your divine
nature. I declare that by the power of the Holy Spirit
working in me, I’m effective in the divine experience
and bearing fruits in every good work, in Jesus’
Name. Amen.

Defeat Your Giant by Kenneth Copeland

Defeat Your Giant by Kenneth Copeland

Who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

1 Samuel 17:26

You may be facing a giant today. He may be a giant of sickness or failure, of financial shortage or another kind of trouble. But don’t let him scare you. You have a secret weapon. A weapon that once turned a shepherd boy into a bear-busting, lion-killing, giant-slaying champion. That weapon was a blood covenant with Almighty God.

Back in David’s day, circumcision was the sign of that covenant. So, when he called Goliath uncircumcised, David was saying: “This guy may be a giant; he may be strong; but he has no covenant with God and that’s why I will defeat him.”

Just like David, you, too, have a covenant. But yours is better. You see, the covenant David had, offered a wealth of blessings to those who kept it, but it also included curses for those who broke it.

Yours doesn’t. Yours is a new covenant that Jesus bought with His own blood. It doesn’t depend on your ability. It depends on Him and what He has already done. He has done it all! All you have to do is believe it and receive it.

Right now, read Deuteronomy 28:16-68. That’s a list of the curses Christ has freed you from. You might even call it a list of the giants Jesus has already slain for you. It contains every diabolical thing the devil could ever use to destroy you.

Read them and rejoice. Those are the things God has healed you of and delivered you from!

Don’t let any giant intimidate you. You have a blood covenant with Almighty God. There’s no uncircumcised circumstance on the face of this earth that can take your victory away from you.

Galatians 3:13-29
